You will not be disappointed. A busy Thursday night so make your reservation in advance if you can. Great feeling friendly staff and very prompt and attentive service. Excellent dinner (nice presentation too) and respectable 'real' portions. Will we return? YES! My pork tenderloin was the best ever! (Maybe suggest a tad less goat cheese with the mashed potatoes?) Minor suggestion: Maybe place those small "pads" on the bottom of the legs of the wooden chairs to lower the sound as chairs are moved about? Don't blink when driving by in South Hero to miss this excellent small and cozy restaurant!
I had an amazingly loaded lobster roll. Easily double the amount of meat for the cost & what you would normally receive at a restaurant. My friend had shrimp scampi that was perfection as well. Pesto aoli with french fries was yummy as well as duck spring rolls! Thoughtful presentation. I greatly appreciate that The Blue Paddle has such a friendly yet classy atmosphere with carefully prepared dishes, while also being relaxed & welcoming to me in my casual attire. Make reservations in advance & you won't be disappointed with this unique Bistro experience. (Being a dog lover is a plus!)
We ordered food for pickup and it’s the best takeaway food we have had in a long time we can’t wait to eat there in person! We ordered seasonal salad - very good! chicken sandwich - really good filling grilled sandwich lobster pasta - giant chunks of yummy lobster in a delicious sauce and perfect amount of pasta coffee crusted pork and goat cheese mashed potatoes - you need to order this, the pork was cooked perfectly the mashed potatoes were so yummy we could eat this every day it’s so good! Staff is super friendly and the food was ready quickly and packaged well.
We were in town for the eclipse and had the great good fortune to find the Blue Paddle moments from our campground. We had dinner on Friday night and it was so amazing we returned for brunch on Sunday. The Friday night PEI mussels were out of this world and absolutely the best mussels I have EVER had - including many enjoyed over the years on PEI. Chef Phoebe's presentation is the key and is not to be missed if you are fortunate enough to dine at the Blue Paddle on Friday or Saturday night. Lobster Benedict was equally amazing with a very generous amount of lobster and very tasty hollandaise for the win at our table for Sunday brunch. The vibe of this restaurant feels very much like home and the places of my youth in New Hope PA with a lot of fun and incredible art including some very cool 3D creations. From the moment we walked in the door we were made to feel very welcome by everyone. As UVM is in our travel plans for the next few years we will certainly be back as often as possible and will include the Blue Paddle as a destination regularly. Thank you for the hospitality, great food and lovely vibe. I am so glad that we found the Blue Paddle!
Put an absolutely delightful spot to dine. We were greeted with friendly exuberance by the owner, our meal was excellent, service was perfect, and we felt truly welcome. This is the kind of place that always has repeat customers because the whole experience is exceptional.
My boyfriend and I just went to Blue Paddle for the first time despite years of driving by it! It was the best meal I’ve had in Vermont BY FAR! The crab cakes were spectacular along with the lobster linguine! Everything tasted fresh and was so well prepared! Super cute interior as well!! We can’t wait to go back!
Called to make reservations and the owner told me she was giving us her “favorite table” in the restaurant, which ended up being in a quiet corner which we absolutely loved. Dinner was phenomenal! We had the filet mignon and lobster saute. We ended up ordering dessert to go, turtle cheesecake which was also amazing! Loved the atmosphere and getting to interact/meet one of the owners. She was super sweet and friendly! Helped the waitress with our to go boxes and also gave us two postcards as a little gift once she learned we were visiting from Michigan. Would HIGHLY recommend and would love to come again some day!
A cute little place on the island. Fantastic service and atmosphere, Delicious food, generous portions. Not sure why it took us so long to get here, but glad we did!
